Skin perfect super foods!

Oats - I remember my Mum always saying eat your porridge up it will make you big and strong, at the time I was sure she was secretly punishing me but now I know that it’s one of the key ingredients for healthy skin. Not only does it do this but it’s full of calcium, potassium, magnesium, vitamin E and B plus protein and so much more! It not only helps with your skin but also helps defeat tiredness and stress …. perfect if your planning a wedding! Make sure if your like me and have coeliac disease (celiac for you US viewers) that there is no traces of gluten as this could cause you to have adverse effects.
Avocado - Full of antioxidants, potassium and vitamins. Although it’s fatty they’re not bad for you at all! They also help fight the dreaded signs of ageing! Even if you are on a diet please don’t think that you should eat them because they are high in fat they are good for you and in order for your body to process you require fats. After all why do you think camels store all that fat in their humps?? So they can deal with the long journeys across the desert.
Dandelion - Now when I say dandelions do not go and pick them out of your garden what ever you do!! For one you need the leaves and they need to be drank as a tea a herbal shop or local organic shops might sell them. These will help your body get rid of toxins caused by drinking or junk food (which can cause those dark circles)
Melon - These are great in helping detox your body both inside and outside - remember if your insides are healthy your outside shows this!
Millet - Now I know your probably thinking isn’t that what goes in bird feed? I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think that when I first read about it. The good thing about this is it’s full of silicone and this is what your skin, hair, teeth and nails need in order to be healthy!
Salmon - Now it doesn’t have to be salmon any oily fish is good especially; herring, mackerel, pilchards, sardines, sprats, trout, whitebait, anchovies (be careful when eating these) and carp! If your not too keen on fish then grab the tartar sauce and hold your nose. It will all be worth it in the end.
Pumpkin seeds - Now I eat these as a snack and although the taste isn’t overly nice they really work!! I won’t go in to too much information but this will give your body a huge clean out in a healthy way! They’re magic beans in my eyes and they help your skin again! If you don’t like the taste pop them in some muesli at breakfast.
Strawberries - These are high in iron and again cleanse your body throughout. Try not to eat them with sugar or cream though … you’ll get the full effect if you restrain.
Watercress - Great in a salad although I find the taste very peppery but if you want lots of vitamins these are full of A and C and they’re also a natural antibiotic so will help reduce spots.
Sprouted seeds - Now this is a strange one I have personally never tried these but you can add them to stir frys and salads. They’re easy to make just grab some bean seeds etc. let them go to sprout or simply go to the supermarket and buy them.

It's so fluffy I'm going to die!! .... Unicorns!

Ha ha ha ok so you may be wondering what on earth my blog title is about!! Well, basically a friend of mine is totally obsessed by unicorns, and, to some extent I am too. I love the film The Last Unicorn! If you haven't seen it I suggest you go get it now it's a weird old cartoon style film about a unicorn that becomes the last one in the world ..... and well I'm not going to spoil it for you. Just go watch - you'll either love it or hate it but I LOVE IT! So yeah .... back to the title. I was browsing the internet for unicorn paraphernalia as you do and thought what a wonderful blog discussion this would be. Then holey moley what did I see a iPhone case that had a picture of a unicorn on (as in picture)! Well I would have loved to own this case, unfortunately, I'm still on the iPhone 4s till an upgrade is due. But if you're luck enough you can go here and buy it (£12.00 plus postage)

So after a while I started searching the web or in my case I use shopcade - a great nifty app and website that allows you to search for any items on the internet and it will bring all kinds of stuff up with deals (sorry I tend to get sidetracked). So I've put together this nifty little guide of 'Unicorn' related items and where you can buy them from. Hope you enjoyed and if you want to follow me then please do so. It'd be great to hear from you. I plan to do more soon.

If you have any suggestions of what I should cover then feel free to get in touch. By going to contact me! All the links / info on where to buy the items will be listed below according to numbers!

1. Unicorn Porcelain Ring sold at Luisaviaroma.com (£91)

Off to treat myself to a nice G & T now!!

Mumbo jumbo about me!

Hello!!!

Well this isn't my first blog, but, it is my first ever fashion / makeup blog! I thought I'd start off about telling you a bit about myself (make sense huh?!) So here we go...

So my name is Steph and my surname is Honey - hence the blog name! It's not my maiden name I'm married and that's one of the perks about marrying my husband (one of them ha ha ha). I was born in 1987 and that makes me 26. I live in Leicestershire, United Kingdom out in the lovely countryside. My star sign is sagittarius (half man half horse archer bloke?). I also have a lovely amazing Mum and a Step-Dad who I consider to be my Dad. He's so lovely and reminds me of an old farmer - wears the clothes and everything. God love him!  My Mum well she's amazing too - an absolute inspiration to me. She's been through thick and thin for me and my three siblings and would no doubt do it all again if she ever had to.

My three siblings ..... Well I have a sister who is 24 Siobhan is her name. She reminds me of the mad hatter with all her quirks and all that jazz. She has a wonderful son called Spencer who has been recently diagnosed with autism and an amazing partner who would do anything for her called Tracey. Who is like an additional sister. I also have two younger brothers George and Arthur (named after Kings) who are currently going through the young teenager stages - sometimes I forget that they're not kids anymore but me being the oldest still tends to baby them. I also have a son called Charlie - light of my life!! He's two and half years old (definitely wouldn't swap him for anything EVER). He's a troublesome boy as expected at that age and is starting to look more like me - according to my husband. As for my husband well he's my gorgeous hubby. His name is Anthony but I call him Ant. He's from Lancashire and all of his friends from up there call him Woody - because he looks like the Toy Story character. So I was outnumbered in my house by boys till we got a gorgeous little pup that goes by the name of Molly. She's a working Cocker Spaniel who I'm currently training to be a gun dog - please don't shoot me for saying that. I'm sure people have ethical problems when it comes to this sometimes but it's in her nature to do that kind of work... it's what they are bred for. Besides that she is also our pet and we love her soo much.

I am currently carrying out a degree BA/BSc (Hons) in Design and Innovation at The Open University. I'm nearly onto my second year!! Go me (for making it this far). After I finish this I plan to carry out my postgraduate Teaching Qualification (I won't say PGCE as I hear that it's being replaced). I hope to do a special one think it goes by the name of QTS and teach 11-18 year olds Art and Design and in turn inspire children. Carrying out my degree so far I have come to realise how much Art (which comes in many forms anything from history, philosophy to the obvious music, paintings etc.) influence the world. I've also learned a lot about design processes which includes management, group work activity and creating prototypes. One of my actual modules involved creating a t-shirt - however it wasn't as awwww inspiring as it may sound. We had to design a t-shirt using a sketch of our hand. But I got a good mark on that one so I cannot complain. As you may have guessed my major is in Art.(I've put a picture below of my design - it's ok I know it's rubbish)

Right next topic ..... Likes and dislikes??

I like (love) people who are honest with me (but in a kind hearted way). People who return the effort for you no matter what and thirdly, people who aren't mundane about life all the time. I suffer with anxiety so I when people are constantly on a downer I find it influences my mood too. So I like to be surround by positive people. Although it isn't always possible as life isn't always rainbows and buttercups. I dislike people who are very self-centred and don't let you get a word in edgeways and consider their opinion to be the right opinion. I do like a good debate however, but I don't force my views upon others.

My favourite activities I like to take part in are walking the dog - we (and I say we - me and the dog) could walk for miles. I enjoy shopping (duhhh) if that's even an activity and obviously I love designing. My LEAST favourite activities are cleaning - ha ha ha it's a form of activity. I love a clean house but it frustrates me living with two boys the house gets very untidy and quickly.

My favourite colour is green. My eyes are green and although I don't personally wear the colour besides my bottle green jumpers (I have 2) and my wellies that's as far as I go. It reminds me of the countryside and that's where I like to spend most of my time. I don't like the colour orange ... no idea why it's my Mum's favourite colour but that doesn't mean I hate it because of that.

So basically that's a little bit about me.... I'm sure I'll fill you in on more as I go along. Maybe if I get my confidence up I'll do a few video blogs but that's a long way off. I hope you enjoy my fashion blogs too and I'll be showcasing some of the clothes I've designed.

Thanks for your time!! xx
